Australia is one of the most beautiful continents in the world. It is well known for its wonderful wildlife such as kangaroos, koala bears, emus, dingoes, cockatoos, and more. There is still so much we don't know about these animals! Let's explore the mammals, reptiles, and birds of Australia.

Let's start with the mammals. Australia has wide variety of unique mammals. There are many such as kangaroos, koalas, and dingoes. These mammals mostly live in the eastern part of Australia. They also have a very interesting appetite. For example, koalas eat eucalyptus leaves, kangaroos eat plants and insects, dingoes eat wallabies, and Tasmanian devils feast on sheep and rabbits.

Australia has some of the largest reptiles in the world. The Australian Crocodile is the largest reptile in the world. Adults average from 3-5 meters in length. They eat birds and large rodents. The Pythonidae commonly know as pythons, are some of the largest snakes in the world. Pythons eat small animals and rodents. The Blue-tongued skinks are named blue-tongued for their blue tongues. skinks eat insects and flowers.

The continent also has very unique birds. There are many such as parrots, honeyeaters, and emus. They live all over Australia. Emus are the second largest bird in the world. Emus eat spiders, grasshoppers, and other insects. Parrots have a curved beak and sharp claws. Parrots eat insects and fruit. The honeyeaters are nectar eaters and related to hummingbirds. Australia definitely has some of of the rarest birds in the world.

This continent is a wonderful place. From its leaping kangaroos, cute koalas, carnivorous dingoes, venomous pythons, fast emus, and magnificent parrots, it is well-known for its wonderful nature.
